DESCRIPTION
|
• Engine does not restart when attempting to resume driving vehicle after stopping, and indicator lights/warning lights in instrument cluster are all illuminated.
• Engine does not restart even though restart conditions are met.

|
False detection of engine restart restriction conditions during engine stop
• False detection of vehicle in unsafe condition while i-stop function is operating
Cannot recognize signal for conditions permitting engine restart
• False detection of i-stop operation not switched OFF even though switched OFF
• False detection of brake pedal non-operation even though operated (released or depressed more)
• False detection of accelerator pedal not depressed even though accelerator pedal is depressed
• False detection of selector lever position
• Falsely detects that climate control unit detects driver-side air mix door position at MAX HOT or MAX COLD
• False detection of changed climate control unit even though air conditioner settings (defroster mode, temperature setting on driver's side) are changed manually
• False detection of climate control unit remaining OFF even though rear defroster is ON
• False detection of assured power brake unit vacuum (assist force) even though vacuum decreases
• Cannot recognize steering wheel angle and speed even though steering wheel is turned.
• False detection of advanced key being inside vehicle even though advanced key is outside of vehicle

DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSED BY FALSE DETECTION OF TRANSMITTER POSITION
• Position the advanced key in the same position as when the malfunction occurred.
• Can the engine be started?

INSPECT KEYLESS ANTENNA
• Inspect the wiring harness between keyless antenna and keyless control module for a short or open circuit when the malfunction occurred and the advanced key was not in the operable range.
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes

Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible a short or open circuit.

No
|
Replace the applicable keyless antenna.
|

VERIFY DTC
• Retrieve the PCM, TCM, BCM and climate control unit DTCs using the M-MDS.

• Are any DTCs present?

• Are the DRSW_D PID values congruent with the opening and closing of the driver’s door?

• Inspect the front door latch switch (driver’s side).
• Is there any malfunction?

Replace the front door latch and lock actuator (driver’s side).

Repair or replace the wiring harness between front door latch switch (driver’s side) and BCM for a possible open circuit.

• Turn off the i-stop system with i-stop OFF switch.
• Start the engine and run it is idling.
• Stop the engine.
• Switch the ignition to ON.
• Access the PCM PID BBP using the M-MDS while the brake pedal has been depressed several times.
• Does the monitor value decrease every time the brake pedal is depressed?
